The Steel Doll

Ever since my best friend got a steel superhero made for himself at our local steel and metal works, I have wanted a steel object of my own. I’ve been thinking about what kind of shape I would want the steel to be moulded into, since I have a limited budget and the more detailed your shape is, the more expensive it is going to be. That is of course contrasted with the fact that the more steel your shape uses up, the more expensive it is also going to be. Those are two things I need to consider.

I am about to go to the shops to find the best steel beams Melbourne has to offer so that they can fashion me the shape of my choosing. But what’s the difference between my friend’s shape and my own? While his is a superhero, I would like a small doll shape. I think it could have many wonderful uses, including as a decoration for my bedroom or to let my younger sister play with whenever she feels like it.

I am a little bit concerned that my friend thinks I’m copying him, and I guess he does have a valid reason to think that. However, rather than directly copying his superhero, my steel doll is more ‘inspired’ by his steel beam creation. I just hope my best friend understands why I’m even going to the same Melbourne structural steel fabrication store that he went to. I’m not sure what the staff members are going to say when I come into the store and start requesting a steel doll. They’re very friendly and professional, but most of their projects are for residential steel and commercial steel rather than for smaller things like my doll or my friend’s superhero. They’re experts though, so I know that whatever they end up crafting it’s going to look amazing. I can’t wait to show my best friend.
