Seeking Disability Support

It’s tough for us veterans at times. Especially us disabled veterans. To think we dedicate years of our lives and put ourselves at risk to return to a life of struggle. I was honourably discharged from the army due to becoming injured. While I live an independent life, I do require assistance with some daily activities. My disability can make certain easy tasks quite challenging at times.

I’ve been scouring the internet and calling numerous agencies to try to find a recommended disability service provider near me. The search so far has been quite a challenging and frustrating process. A lot of the agencies I call seem to have long wait times, and I’m starting to feel quite discouraged and demoralised. I do refuse to give up. I know that I need and deserve help, and I’m determined to find a service provider who can give me the support I need.

After some searching, I finally found support coordination agencies in Adelaide who were ready and willing to hear my story. Once they understood me, my story, and my needs, they found a service provider who was a great fit. The provider offered a range of services, including personal care, transportation, and companionship.

Every interaction with the support coordination agency, and the provider they’ve connected me with, has been a really positive one. I can see how eager they are to help, and they were available whenever I needed them. It was one of the first times since leaving the army that I felt like I was receiving reliable and trustworthy care that I could rely on. I’ve even developed a friendship with my service provider and I look forward to their visits. My life has definitely changed for the better and I’m definitely feeling a lot less frustrated and stressed. I now have a lot of peace of mind that I can manage basic errands and activities with minimal constraint.

I guess it truly shows that perseverance certainly does pay off in the long run.
