I’m peacefully listening to a podcast while my house breaks down around me. Pretty much everything that could break has broken in this rental property that I live in. I can deal with my oven not working and my lights working only fifty per cent of the time, but what I absolutely can’t deal with is the absolutely awful smell that’s coming out of my drains.
When I walked downstairs yesterday, the disgusting smell hit me like a bus. I immediately felt like I was going to vomit. I’ve never smelt anything worse and it was overwhelming enough that I got on the phone to the closest company offering drain camera inspections in the Melbourne area immediately. As I said, I could deal with the rest of my house not functioning the way it’s supposed to but that smell could never be present in my house again. I’d move out and break my rental contract in a heartbeat.
So, now that I’ve called the plumber, there’s nothing I can do other than wait for him to fix the terrible, terrible smell. I’ve pretty much just accepted that it’s out of my hands now and I’ve got to leave it to the experts to fix. I mean, I hired the best drainage contractors Melbourne has to offer for a reason. If anyone can fix this disgusting issue that I’m facing, it’s them. I just hope they fix it quickly, because it’s making me gag even thinking about it.
As I said before though, this is out of my hands. It’s not my job to do anything other than call the drainage contractors and let them do their job. So, I’m just going to sit here on the couch under my blanket and listen to my favourite podcast. Sometimes you have to acknowledge when things are out of your control and leave it to the experts. That’s what I’m doing right now. I’ll update you guys on what happens – hopefully they can fix it.
