Sweating from heat

My gosh it’s been an absolute swelter of a summer! I don’t remember the days ever being this hot. Has anyone else noticed the heat? It’s dry and I’m sweating myself into a mess. All my shirts have sweat patches all over them. I changed my shirt three times yesterday. I have so much washing to do now because of all my sweating. The ironic thing is doing all this washing is making me sweat more. The only thing that is cooling me down is sitting on my couch with my feet in some cold water and not moving at all.

Do you know what’s really not helping with this heat? The fact I need air conditioning repairs. Canberra is unbearable this time of year. The days are dry, the humidity is clinging to my skin, and I just can’t get comfortable. I’ve been so snappy to everyone in the house. In fact, I think it’s safe to say that we’ve all been snappy. I’m dreading to look at our water bill when it arrives next month. It’ll be through the roof. We’ve all been filling up ice buckets, having showers, having baths, washing our sweaty clothes. If another drought happens they’re definitely going to blame our household.

I think other houses in the area might have also had their air conditioning quit on them. I’ve called so many air conditioning expert near me. Canberra must either be having a shortage, or everyone’s air conditioning systems are simultaneously conking out. I honestly can’t wait to get it fixed so me and my family can live comfortably again. Let’s also not forget that I’m a woman in her fifties. I don’t tolerate heat as well as I used to! I start sweating even on the coldest of days.

My husband managed to get in touch with an air conditioning repairman who can come by in two days to evaluate and hopefully fix the problem. The next two days will be tough, but we need to stay patient.
